Hi Hans - thanks, and that is interesting news about banks making strategic decisions about cache technologies. We too are seeing banks continuing to invest in BE for both CEP and decision management ... some IT shops are beginning to appreciate the "buy CEP, get an OMS free" deal!
Cheers

Distributed caches that are undoubtedly similar to the one in BE have been declared a strategic platform at two big banks this year (at least). They will be building future OMS functionality on top of them and of course so much functionality is built on top of the OMS that it will become a central component in the front office architecture.

So talking about the similarities between BE and a distributed object cache makes a lot of sense to me.

Hi Claudi - thanks for the comment. For sure there are plenty of details I haven't covered here (for example, the design methodologies for CEP applications versus OODBMSs, inference rules vs triggers, etc etc) - hopefully we'll cover some of these in future...
Cheers

Hi Vincent,

thank you very much! Very useful description of Tibco BE, for what I can tell from your description I like very much the approach (always keeping in mind that devil is in the details... ;-))
