I am sure you will agree with me when I say:

Buying a mouse for playing MMO’s can be a pretty hard task. Some of us would think, you just have to go to a store, pick one, and you are done, but the reality is that most mouses are either too big or don’t have enough buttons for your macros.

Going to WoW Arenas or raiding with a cheap mouse, and binding all of your rotation macros on your keyboard? That is a big no go!

But even, if you find a mouse that has enough buttons to adapt to your playing style, it will come at a cost of comfort.

There is only one problem. How the hell should you find the perfect mouse, that is comfortable, has enough buttons, and still lightweight?

You might have a bigger hand, that can reach all of the buttons, or you might have a smaller hand, and the button placement is an issue for you. How should you choose?

Well, that is why I created this list of the Best MMO Mouses in 2017. After countless hours of gaming (pity me), testing and searching on the internet after mouses, I have shortlisted the top 5 mouses that you can buy right now.

I am sure, that these mouses are not for everyone because some of them carry a hefty price tag, but if you are looking for a cheap mouse, that you can use for gaming, then check out my best budget gaming mouse list. I am sure you will find a mouse there that will fit your budget!

But if the price is not an issue for you, you just want the best gaming experience, these are mouses that made it to our list of the best MMO mouses in 2017:

1. Razer Naga Chroma – The best looking gaming mouse

The Razer Naga Chroma is undoubtedly the best-looking gaming mouse i have ever seen in my life.  If beauty is an important factor for you when choosing an MMO mouse, this is the ultimate choice!

However, it’s awesome design is not the only trick up its sleeve. This mouse has everything that an MMO player needs. Awesome design, packed with buttons, and comfortable housing.

Look, I am not going to lie, the Razor Naga Chroma might not be the most inexpensive mmo mouse on the market right now, but it offers so many stunning features, you will not even care about the price anymore! Don’t worry, I am not bragging about this product, in this review we will take a deep dive, and look into every aspect of this mouse, to help you decide whether it’s a good or bad choice to buy it.

This gaming mouse comes with a total of 19 buttons, that are fully customizable, meaning you can program them to do anything you want. You want a button, to click somewhere on your screen? Done. Want it to press certain buttons in a certain order? Thanks to the awesome software that comes with the mouse, it can be done in two clicks.

In case you don’t want to reprogram your middle, left and right mouse buttons which I strongly advise you to not do, (trust me, clicking on windows while it is programmed to go elsewhere, can be a real pain in the ass) there are 12 mechanical buttons on the left side of the mouse, which are fully programmable to your liking.

Hate that you don’t feel the mouse button clicking, and wondering if you pressed it or not? Well, the Naga has a solution for that as well! Thanks to its mechanical switches, it gives you a tactile and audible feedback, so you can be assured that you have pressed that button, that you wanted.

The designers at Razer had an awesome idea: Give a concave shape to every each of these 12 buttons, it means you can blind-find them, so you don’t have to look every time to see which button you are pressing. It can take a little while ’till you get used to it, and learn the positions, but after some practicing it can be handy!

While the DPI of a mouse might not be the most important thing while playing an MMO, because you don’t have to be laser precise, like in an FPS game, it is still a good feeling to be able to react faster and target certain enemies/mobs at a nice and fast speed.

The Naga Chroma MMO mouse comes with an insanely precise 16000 DPI 5G Laser, which gives you unsurpassable accuracy while playing. I have personally used this mouse on many surfaces, and I can truly say, that you can use the Naga on any surface you want, it will be very accurate. Of course, it will give you the best experience if you use it on a high-quality mouse pad, but if you don’t have that, any dark and smooth surface works just as fine. Oh and one thing, don’t use it on any glass surface because you know, it is an optical mouse.

The best and most unique part of the mouse is the tilt-click scroll wheel. I have never seen anything like this on a mouse. The scroll wheel does not only go up and down like as most of the scroll wheels on simple mouses do, but you can tilt it left and right, giving you two more programmable buttons. Whether you use it for scrolling through web pages or switching hot bars in games, it is a nice aspect.

Last but not least I have to mention the awesome design feature that mouse has: You can customize the lighting for both the thumb grid and the scroll wheel. You can choose out of more than 16 million color options and I am almost certain, that you will find one that you like.

2. Logitech G600  – The Perfect Gaming Mouse For Small Hands

While the Logitech G600 might not be the smallest mouse that you can use for MMOs, the guys at Logitech really tried to compensate us with adding buttons and features on the mouse.

Logitech has been in the tech industry for a long-long time now, and i can say that i am almost certain, if you are older then 20 years, you’ve had at least one of the logitech office mouses.

While those are not the best mice you can use for gaming or MMOs, the Logitech G600 comes with 20 MMO-Tuned button. They come pre configured, for what they say “optimal MMO use”, but you and i know, that we are going to erase everything they programmed in for us, the second we installed it’s software.

The Logitech has a tiltable and clickable scroll wheel as well, that can come in handy, when gaming.

The G600 comes with an awesome software, where you can program each and every button to your liking.

Logitech has gone above and beyond my expectations with the design of their thumb panel. They created a “dual-dish” design, which is really comfortable, and it is nearly impossible to missclick. You have to get used to it, to learn a buttons for sure, but they are not slippery.

The plastic covering on the button get scraped easily, so be careful not to bash it against your desk a few times, when you lose in an arena.

Playing in the night time, or raiding long hours, but the sun didn’t come up yet? No problem, the buttons have a custom-color backlighting system, that you can tune to your own likings. You can choose out of 16 million colors. I am sure, you will find on that you like. If not, just light a candle near you, and you will see your buttons. Old style.

3. Corsair Gaming SCIMITAR Pro  – Stylish MMO Gaming Mouse

Ohh, Corsair. The flagship of gaming mouse design. Just look at their logo, it tells you! Since i’ve been involved in gaming, i always loved corsair mmo mouses, but i will try to keep my fanboyism low.

This mouse does not only look like bumblebee from the Transformers, but it is also a very great mouse to begin with. It comes with aa custom 16000 DPI optical sensor, which you can controll as well. Again, you don’t need as much DPI for an MMO, like you would for a game like Counter Strike, but it is still good to have that fast reaction.

The mouse stores your profiles and settings on itself, with hardware macro playback, which is very great, because you don’t have to carry any software or setting files around, when you are playing at your friends house, or at a LAN party, the mouse remembers your settings and macros, and it’s completely plug-and-play!

The Scimitar Pro has 17 programmable buttons, so it’s a little less then the other mice that we have looked at already, but it has a game-changer feature, what can save you from a lot of stress. “Yo, his palms are sweaty…” Do you know who has sweaty palms apart from Eminem? Gamers. Try raiding a few hours, wipe a ton, and you will see that you lose more water trough your hand, than on your body in hot summer day…

That is why the Scimitar has textured button keycaps, to save your thumb for slipping over buttons, and missclick on one. But that is not the only thing, why this mouse is so great.

The side buttons are mechanical, meaning that you get a feedback every time you press one. I really liked playing with this mouse, the mechanical effect is really similar to the one you get on a gaming keyboard.

Again, if you like playing at night, it is very essential to see from the corner of your eyes, where your thumb is. This mouse comes with dynamic multicolor backlighting, what you can fully customize. The mouse has 4 lighting pieces, and the light is adjustable.

4. ROCCAT Tyon R3  – The Ergonomic MMO Gaming Mouse

Before I start this review, I must say, that I never tried any mice from ROCCAT before. I had a ROCCAT Keyboard before, that was great, so i had high hopes for this product, and you will see the outcome.

The Tyon comes with a good amount of 8200 DPI Laser Senso, which is again, far more enough for playing MMOs, and using the mouse for everyday use.

ROCCAT has always been the king of creating ergonomical things, and the company did not disappoint with the Tyon R3 at all. The mouse itself has a very good and sturdy grip, and it is comfortable. I’m saying this because, most of the gaming mouses are uncomfortable if you use them for a longer period of time, but it is not the case for Tyon.

Although the mouse does not have a keypad, it still offers you 14 programmable mouse buttons,  with a button called Easy – Shift. This feature apart from the name is the same as G-shift. It basically allows you to assign a second command to every key on the mouse, leaving you with 28 mouse buttons in the end. That is more than enough if you ask me.

The scrolling wheel of the mouse is only 2D, meaning you can’t tilt it, unlike all of the mouses I talked before, but it has a great addition to replace it, called X-Celerator.

On the other hand, the Tyon has an awesome two-way button called “Dorsal Fin-Switch”, which is great, you can assign any command to it you would like to.

This beast has an on board processor and memory, which means the macros you assign, are stored in your mouse. You don’t need any operating OS to execute them, the processor in the Tyon does the job. This means that there is literally no lag or delay, because the buttons don’t have to depend on a software.

You can customize the lighting on this mouse as well, it has two zones where it lights up and you can tweak it with awesome effects.

5. UtechSmart Venus  – A Gaming Mouse For Big Hands

This is the bulkiest MMO gaming mouse I have ever reviewed, and it is not a bad thing! I am sure not many of you are familiar with the brand UtechSmart.

I am sure not many of you are familiar with the brand UtechSmart. It’s a smaller company from the U.S. what created different computer peripherials, for example gaming keyboards and mouses. Although they don’t have a big name in the gaming industry like Razer or Corsair has, one product gained a lot of popularity, thanks to it’s low pricepoint, and great features.

The mouse has a 16400DPI High Precision Laser sensor, what is let me tell you, very precise. This is by far the highest DPI of the mouses i reviewed, and it is awesome at this price point to be honest.

Although this mouse has eaten a lot of cheese and got fat, it has great ergonomics and comfortable design, with easy to reach thumb grid. I could easily reach all of the buttons on the grid itself, without needing to readjust them.

If you read my bio, you probably know, that i work from home, meaning i am sitting a lot at my computer, and my hands get tired every once in a while. I’m flattered to tell, but my hands didn’t get tired when using this mouse at all!

Although the buttons on the grid are not mechanical, they still don’t feel squishy, or too easy to press in. To be honest, you cant really expect better than this, at this price point. But you don’t have to, because it is simple, and great!

You still can’t beat your roommate with this mouse, but it has an incredibly durable design, with braided cables. Thanks to this, you don’t have to be afraid, of cutting the cable with the edge of your desk.

Some of us like our mouse heavy, some of us like it light. The Custom Weight System in this mouse allows you to change it to any weight, with eight 2.4 g weight put in the mouse. This system is pretty easy to change, and it is very easy to change around.

The sliders on this mouse are awesome if you are using a high quality mousepad, the give you spares, but you don’t have to worry for like about a year. Keep them close though, if you like to play with your mouse on an uneven surface, or on sandpaper (Some people, ugh….).

The built in LEDs are pretty decent, you have several options to choose out from, but they are nothing superb compared to a high end mouse, but what do we expect for this price? Also, the one on the scroll wheel seems to stay yellow, it seems to be unchangable.

None the less, for the buck, it is an awesome mouse!

Conclusion

So, there you have it, folks! Five of the best MMO Gaming mouses tested out and reviewed, in order to help you choose the very one mouse that fits your needs. There are so many great features and mouses in this list, that it was very hard to pick a winner. I say it’s the ROCCAT Tyon R3, that takes the first place, thanks to it’s awesome design, and added memory and processor.

The second one would be UtechSmart Venus, which is a very great mouse for your buck. It’s software isn’t that developed as some of the list leading mouses, but it is a very great choice if you are not looking for an expensive one.

I hope my list helped you choose the best mouse, and if you feel that i have left anything out, feel free to contact me!

If you want to enjoy your MMO gaming experience, we suggest getting a 17 inch laptop you can game with. Or, if you don’t like laptops, just get a gaming PC and slay those mobs with ease!
